If you enjoy camping, Waukesha County and the Kettle Moraine State Forest southern unit offer campsites for tents and RVs.

Hundreds of RV and tent camp sites are available in the southern unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. Outdoor recreation abounds on the 22,000 acres of forest to explore.

Within the Kettle Moraine State Forest, learn more about Ottawa Lake camping, Whitewater Lake, group camping and Pinewoods campground.

Reservations are recommended May-October and can be made here or by calling 888-947-2757.

Another option within the Kettle Moraine State Forest, located in Eagle, is Horseriders’ Campground, which connects campers to trails within the Kettle Moraine State Forest.  This campground is equipped with amenities for riders and there is also one group camp site available,

Waukesha County Parks

Waukesha County parks offer four locations with tent camping for families, groups and disabled visitors.

  • Menomonee Park located in Menomonee Falls has family and group camping areas. There are a total of 30 family camping sites available within the 464-acre park.
  • Mukwonago Parlocated off of Hy LO in Mukwonago has 30 family camping and six group camping sites within this 355-acre park.
  • Muskego Park located in Muskego offers 24 family camping and 2 group camping sites within this 193-acre park
  • Naga-Waukee Parklocated off of Hwy 83 in Hartland has 25 family camping sites within this 414-acre park.


Each of the parks offer a variety of recreation, rental and amenity options.
