avid hotel Milwaukee-West Now Open
The avid hotel Milwaukee West – Waukesha opened in early March 2021 and is where the essentials are done exceptionally well. This 95 room hotel caters to the needs of business travelers with comfortable, quiet and charming hotel rooms for a best night sleep. The lobby space features a retail-like market, all day coffee and water and a breakfast area with high-quality grab and go options featuring a hot egg scramble bowl or sandwich. Additional amenities include a fitness center, four electric car charging stations and complimentary parking. Their location is within minutes of I-94 and Silvernail Road.
Hop, Harvest & Vine Public House
Good Harvest Market now has a new restaurant located within its store. Hop Harvest & Vine opened earlier in 2021. Whether you are craving something tasty for breakfast, lunch or dinner, their menu serves up big flavor and an abundance of fresh local ingredients.
Dishes are prepared using 100% certified organic produce, all-natural pasture-raised meats and sustainably sourced seafood.
They also offer wines from growers who share their values and offer a rotating selection of local craft beers, kombuchas and ciders from across Wisconsin.
Pewaukee/Lake Country Farmers’ Market
The Pewaukee/Lake Country Farmers’ Market will feature a food truck village, live entertainment, children’s activities, special theme nights, dozens of unique craft vendors, and of course, the freshest produce our local farmers have to offer! Held weekly on Wednesday’s starting May 12-Oct. 13
The Craft Lounge
A new bar and restaurant opened in Downtown Waukesha called The Craft Lounge in late 2020. The bar features over 20 beers and a handful of craft cocktails. Their menu features appetizers like skewers, nachos and spinach artichoke bread as well as build your own pizza, flatbreads and sandwiches.
Twisted Vine Wine Shop & Bar
Pewaukee Lake welcomed Twisted Vine Wine Shop & Bar this past year. They carry about 300 wines available for retail purchase as well as 30 wines you can taste. Additionally, they offer specialty spirits, beers and soda as well as a nice outdoor patio area.
Urban Air Adventure Park
Urban Air Adventure Park opened in Waukesha in late 2020. The adventure park features attractions that cater to any level of adventurer with fun for just about everyone:
- Conquer obstacles like the ropes or warrior course
- Play dodgeball or your luck at the battle beams
- Skydive indoors, or ride the Sky Rider ride
- Ride go-karts or spinning bumper cars
- Play mini-golf, bowl, laser tag
- Climb walls and jump, slam dump or tumble down the runway of trampolines
- Jump and climb out of a foam pit or the tubes playground
- There is a dedicated area for kids 7 and under
- Play arcade games
History of Waukesha in 100 Objects New Exhibit
The new exhibit History of Waukesha in 100 Objects celebrates the many stories that the City of Waukesha has to tell. From a family’s cooking pot to a restaurant dinner plate, the exhibit explores what is means to live, work, and play in the city. The 100 objects are from both the collections of the Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum and loaned from community members and organizations. Each brings a new perspective of history. The exhibit is in celebration of the City of Waukesha’s 125th anniversary, when the biggest village in the country became the smallest city. Current museum hours are Thursday & Friday afternoon 1-4 and Saturday 10-4, the exhibit will run through March 2022. You can also explore the exhibit online, and contribute your image or story here.
Beach Bum Bakery in Pewaukee will be opening May 1 and is a new bakery located in Pewaukee specializing in custom and gourmet cookies, cupcakes and cakes for special occasions and celebrations.
Chef Pam’s Kitchen has expanded its space for cooking classes and will be offering classes just a few doors down from her current location on Main Street in Downtown Waukesha in June, 2021 (280 W. Main St.). While she will continue to offer cooking classes for groups, those classes will now expand with more options and larger capacities. Let Chef Pam customize your experience or select from established international cuisine to all American fare menu options. And of course, the best part is when everyone sits down to enjoy the meal they have created together.
Mama Ducky’s Desserts will be moving into Chef Pam’s old location at 290 W. Main St. Mama Ducky’s makes pies, cupcakes, cookies and mini portions and will be opening in the spring of 2021.
