Get to Know Irish Pubs in Waukesha Pewaukee

You won’t need the luck of the Irish to find lots of fun things to do in the Waukesha Pewaukee area this St. Patrick’s Day. Check out these four fabulous Irish pubs for a festive Irish-inspired weekend.

The House of Guinness (HOG)

The House of Guinness (HOG) is a great choice for St. Patrick’s Day festivities, or any day you’re looking for something fun to do. The pub is at 354 W. Main St. in historic downtown Waukesha.

All weekend leading up to St. Patrick’s Day HOG will have live bands performing:

  • On Thursday BC Messplay is on at 8pm
  • The Brothers Morgan play at 9pm on Friday
  • And Dublin O’Shea performs at 8pm on Saturday

On St. Patrick’s Day HOG opens at 6am – yes, there really are people waiting to get in! Be sure to check out and enjoy the House of Guinness’s beer garden outside in heated tents, where there will be a food truck to satisfy your Irish food cravings.

Nettie’s Irish Pub (also known as NIP’S) is located at 733 W. Wisconsin Ave. in Pewaukee and hosts a St. Patrick’s Day celebration that’s the largest in Lake Country. This is NIP’S 11th annual party and it’s going to be a sea of green and a ton of fun.  Doors open at 11AM with festivities running throughout the day:

Live Music:

  • 1-5pm – Romeo’s Charm
  • 5-6pm – Bag Pipes
  • 6-10pm – The Playlist

Nettie’s offers corned beef dinners starting at noon, with all of proceeds from those (as well as a portion from the entire day) going to the Pewaukee Fire Auxiliary. And, there’s a heated tent on the pub’s two-acre lot.

Also, NIP’S offers free rides in their 15 passenger vans to anyone within a 10-mile radius of the pub. Guests are picked up at home and taken back when they’re ready to go. Vans run from 11:30am – 2 am. If you’d like a ride, call 262-695-6477, NIP’S takes reservations as early as a week before St. Patrick’s Day. Additionally, NIPS has parking at The Old St. Mary’s Church (Now Agape) @ 449 W. Wisconsin Ave. There will be a shuttle running from the Agape parking lot to NIP’S and back. Look for the signs! These free shuttles are all run by volunteers, making it a safe and awesome day for everyone.

Hannon’s Fine Food and Cocktails, owned and operated by the Hannon family, has been a staple in the Waukesha restaurant and bar scene for more than 33 years. The Irish pub, located at 357 W. On St. Patrick’s Day weekend, Hannon’s will offer a special Irish menu on Saturday night and all day Sunday, brimming with traditional Irish fare. Items include:

Five Points Irish Pub

Tastes of Ireland await you at Five Points Irish Pub, located in the Clarke Hotel at 314 W. Main St. in Waukesha, where the music, the food and the drink of Ireland are joyfully celebrated.
