The summer season is slowly (and sadly) coming to an end. It is this time of year where we savor the high temps, sunshine, and events that bring us outside in our community. For those looking for that last hoorah before school ramps up, the Fall season approaches and our shorts and flip flops get tucked away till next year, here are some great options. Running the gamut from family-friendly to adult appropriate, you’re bound to find something that will serve as the perfect send off to a beautiful summer season.
Waukesha Beer Garden
Thursday, August 8 – Saturday, August 10 • Minooka Park
A rotating list of five beers will be on tap, and custom beer steins will be available for purchase. In addition to Raised Grain’s beer offerings, Pop-Up Beer Gardens will feature a rotating lineup of Waukesha County-based food trucks, including Matty’s Food Truck, Just Smokin’ BBQ and Tramper’s Oak Fired Pizza.
Civic Band Concert: Jazz Express
Friday, August 8 • Cutler Park • 7-9pm
Celebrating 75 years of performing in Cutler Park for the Waukesha community to enjoy. Enjoy the smooth sounds of jazz and wine and cheese on Aug. 8. Pre-concert activities start at 7pm and the concert will begin at 8pm.
Waukesha Rotary Blues Fest
Friday, August 9 – Saturday, August 10 • Naga-Waukee Park
A celebration of the “Roots” of American Music which includes blues, rock and roll, country, gospel, soul, jazz, folk and so much more! A widely diverse line up of musical styles that will thrill and entertain any lover of good music and the history behind the music.
Frame Park Car Show by the Waukesha Old Car Club
Sunday, August 11 • Frame Park • 8:30am-3:30pm
Annual Waukesha Old Car Club Car Show featuring Classic, Antique, Hot Rods, Rat Rods, Stock, Muscle, Modified Cars, Trucks and Motorcycles. Food and refreshments are available along with music & dancing.
Pewaukee Antique & Classic Boat Show
Saturday, August 17 • Lakefront Park • 9am-5pm
An annual show featuring more than 50 antique and classic boats, antique cars, kid’s activities, model toy boats, closing ceremony honoring veterans, and live music.
Donna Lexa Memorial Art Fair
Saturday, August 17 • Glacial Drumlin Bicycle Trail • 9am-4pm
A celebration of fine arts and crafts including paintings, photography, pottery, glass, wood, jewelry, metal, mixed media, drawings, and fiber art. Enjoy live music, a kid’s area, and food and beverage.
Wisconsin Highland Games
Friday, August 30 – Sunday, September 1 • Waukesha Expo Center
